Pundit says one Arsenal player is now in the worst form he’s ever been in since signing for the Gunners

Arsenal have had a decent, if unspectacular, start to their Premier League campaign.

Seven points from their opening three games is a decent return, but Arsenal haven’t exactly been blowing teams away.

Aston Villa had plenty of chances against the Gunners when the two sides met, while their opening day win against Wolves was routine rather than remarkable.

Arsenal haven’t quite got going this season, and some of their players seem to be stuck in the starting blocks.

Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Declan Rice’s start to the season, and it’s fair to say he’s not been too impressed.

According to the pundit, Rice is currently going through his worst patch of form since signing for Arsenal.

Declan Rice in his worst Arsenal form

Clarke shared his verdict on Rice and his recent performances.

“The north London derby is a bad one to lose Declan Rice for, but he isn’t playing brilliantly, I have to say, this is Declan Rice maybe in his worst patch of form since he came to Arsenal actually, I don’t think he’s at it at the moment,” Clarke said.

Declan Rice has barely put a foot wrong

Clarke is right, Rice is in his worst run of form for Arsenal, but that isn’t to say he’s playing terribly.

Rice has been nothing short of world-class for the past 12 months since joining Arsenal, and while his performances have slipped in recent weeks, it’s nothing to be too alarmed about.

Rice has been ‘outstanding’ since joining Arsenal.

The midfielder’s performances have dipped slightly, but he remains a very important player to this Arsenal team, and he will be sorely missed in the north London derby after this international break.

The reality is that Rice has still barely put a foot wrong since joining Arsenal, and while these first three weeks have been difficult for the midfielder, he should be able to get back on track once his suspension is over.
