Pundit says Liverpool have a talent in their squad who can something no Arsenal player can

Arsenal may have scored 5 goals at the weekend, but there’s still this discussion happening about the Gunners needing a proper finisher.

The north London club don’t have that ice-cold striker who can be trusted to finish everything that is put in front of them.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Shay Given has now shared his verdict on Arsenal’s striking situation, and he concurs that Arsenal don’t have a finisher who is cool in front of goal in the same way Diogo Jota is for Liverpool.

Arsenal have nobody like Jota

Given shared his verdict on the Gunners and the Liverpool star.

“They have the most goals from set plays this season Arsenal, so they’re flying on that front, but we say it every week that Arsenal are lacking that young Ian Wright, a real poacher. There isn’t a drop off in performances, just that final piece, the coolness, a Jota in front of goal for example, they don’t seem to have that,” Given said.

Not many out there

Given is right, Arsenal don’t have any player like Jota, but the reality is that there aren’t many players out there like Jota.

Look at the Premier League top scorers charts, away from Erling Haaland and Heung-Min Son, you wouldn’t really call any of the top scorers in the league natural finishers in the same way Jota is.

Arsenal need someone who can finish 90% of their chances, but if they are going to find a player in that ilk they will have to spend massive money to land whichever target they do ultimately land upon.

Arsenal could really do with a player like Jota, but finding someone like that is much easier said than done.
