Craig Burley has labelled one Arsenal player a manager’s dream after the Gunners picked up a huge win at Wolves on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s men have put a difficult week behind them with their performance at Molineux. Arsenal put themselves back above Manchester City in the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory.
It opens the door for Arsenal to pile the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s men. But Wolves certainly threatened to make life even more difficult for the visitors.
Thankfully for Arsenal, they were able to get the opening goal just before the break.
Arsenal player is a manager’s dream
It was Leandro Trossard who broke the deadlock. The Belgian managed to find the top corner after some good work from Gabriel Jesus inside the box.
Trossard has had a knack of scoring a number of big goals for Arsenal during his time at the Emirates. He has found the back of the net six times since the turn of the year in the league. And he has 13 in all competitions this season.
It is an outstanding return for a player who has only made 13 top-flight starts this term. And speaking on ESPN, Craig Burley suggested that Arteta must be so happy to have the 29-year-old in his ranks.

“I think he’s made a much bigger impact than Jesus. Martinelli’s been a starter for a long time. But Leandro Trossard, he’s a manager dream in the sense that I’m sure he’s not happy when he doesn’t start, but when he hasn’t started, generally when Arsenal have needed him, he’s made an impact,” he said.
“He’s come on and he’s created something or he’s scored an important goal. Obviously, he’s a bit lucky with his goal, but he’s certainly been a player that when they signed him, you went ‘how’s it going to work out, we don’t know’. Very, very astute signing.”
What some forget about Gunners signing Leandro Trossard
It is easy to forget that Arsenal signed Trossard off the back of missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk. In fairness, Trossard had proved himself in the Premier League with Brighton before his move.
But he is someone who has been directly involved in 27 goals in 63 games in all competitions. That is an outstanding return for someone who is often brought off the bench.
Some have suggested that Trossard has been one of the best signings the current Arsenal regime have made.
And when you consider the costs involved, you have to say that that is probably correct.
