Tottenham lost 3-2 to Arsenal in one of the strangest north London derbies in recent memory on Sunday.
It was a game defined by set-pieces and refereeing decisions as disallowed goals and penalty appeals dominated the narrative of this game.
Spurs went in at half-time 3-0 down against Arsenal, but, somehow, they forced their way back into the game in the second-half.
Strangely, Spurs didn’t really create all that much in the second-period, but two mistakes from Arsenal led to two goals from Tottenham, one of which came from an unlikely source.
Indeed, Cristian Romero netted Spurs’ first goal by closing down the goalkeeper, a role you wouldn’t necessarily expect a centre-back to take on.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Leroy Rosenior has been discussing Romero’s performance against Arsenal, and he says that he’s never seen the Argentine play in this way before.

Cristian Romero’s new position
Rosenior spoke about the £42m man and his positioning against Arsenal.
“Tottenham did get their goal, Romero ended up at centre-forward from centre-back, a new position that I’ve never seen before, then they got the penalty, but after that I never felt Spurs would score again, Arsenal saw the game out quite comfortably in all honesty,” Rosenior said.
Cristian Romero was Tottenham’s most threatening player
Strangely, the Argentine defender was actually Tottenham’s most dangerous player for most of this game.
He had two headers that were golden chances on top of his goal, so, on another day, he may have had a hat-trick.
On top of that, Micky Van de Ven also had a disallowed goal, so Spurs’ centre-backs were very much in and amongst the attacking action.
That probably says a lot about how desperate Tottenham became in this game, but, at the same time, it is a positive that Spurs do have such a weapon to utilise when push comes to shove.
