Pundit has a feeling Mikel Arteta is going to start using £45m Arsenal player on the wing now

Gabriel Jesus has recently returned from injury, and it’s fair to say that a lot has changed at Arsenal since he’s been sidelined.

Indeed, all of a sudden, the Gunners can’t stop scoring, and with this new-look attack, Jesus may struggle to work his way back into the team.

The Brazilian’s spot up front has been taken by Kai Havertz – who has been doing very well as of late, and with the German looking unlikely to be dropped, there are questions around where Jesus now fits into this side.

Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has been discussing where Jesus now fits into this team, and he says that he wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the Brazilian utilised on the left wing now that Gabriel Martinelli is potentially out injured.

Gabriel Jesus could be used on the wing

The pundit shared his verdict on where Jesus fits into this side.

“I said that if Martinelli is injured I’d stick Jesus on the left. No offence to Trossard who is fantastic, but Jesus makes us better. It’s another rotation, we’ve seen Havertz rotate with Odegaard and now he could rotate with Jesus, that will get opponents in more of a pickle. Even though Martinelli has been brilliant, I have a feeling that Jesus will get more gametime on the left than he has before,”

Exciting

This is a very exciting proposition.

Not only is the £45m man a fantastic player who is now returning to the fold for Arsenal, this adds an extra element of dynamism to Arsenal’s attacking play.

As Clarke says, having Jesus in the frontline allows for that bit more fluidity, especially as Kai Havertz likes to drift, drop and change his position throughout the game.

If Jesus and Havertz can find a way to work together, constantly rotating within the same XI, then Arsenal could become even more dangerous as an attacking outfit.
