Pundit can’t believe what he’s been hearing from Tottenham fans recently

Ange Postecoglou’s honeymoon period at Tottenham is well and truly over.

The Australian had an incredible start to life at Spurs last year, but now, cracks are starting to appear for Postecoglou.

Postecoglou’s methods are now being questioned, and there’s even some rumblings within the Tottenham fanbase that the gaffer should be replaced.

Jason Cundy has fielded a few calls to that effect on his TalkSPORT show in recent weeks, and speaking on The Spurs Chat podcast, the pundit has now addressed those views.

Jason Cundy hits out at anti-Postecoglou Tottenham brigade

Cundy seriously went out to bat for the Tottenham manager.

The pundit says that it’s ridiculous that anyone would call for the manager to be sacked, but he did note that Postecoglou needs to be more adaptable.

Indeed, Cundy says that Postecoglou needs to change things up depending on his situation or his opposition.

“How would you describe Postecoglou’s time at Spurs, because you’ve had a lot of calls recently from fans who want Postecoglou gone,” The host said.

“That’s utterly ridiculous. We have to go back to the time Chelsea beat you at your place, nearly a year ago now, and they went down to nine men,” Cundy said.

“He’s trying to change the mindset of players, staff, board and the fans, no matter what happens this is how we play, this is the style this is the system.

“In the Premier League you need to be adaptable, it isn’t one size fits all.”

Is Ange Postecoglou under pressure?

There have been some fringe calls for Postecoglou to go already this season, so, is the Tottenham manager in any actual danger?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Postecoglou’s job at Tottenham is very secure at the moment.

“Not at all, zero per cent. No, everything is under control at Tottenham. A slow start and a disappointing north London derby, but they are not considering any shocking decision for the manager,” Romano said.

“They are completely considering the ideas and the plan, the whole project is under Ange Postecoglou, this is something they are building with the manager not for the manager,” Romano said.

For now, Postecoglou’s job is safe, but, of course, this poor form can only go on for so long.

Football is a very fickle game, and if Tottenham don’t pull themselves out of their current predicament soon, the pressure will only grow.

Tottenham’s upcoming games against both West Ham and Crystal Palace are huge chances to get back on track.
