Clinton Morrison has lauded one Manchester United player for an ‘unbelievable’ piece of play in the opening three minutes at Old Trafford against Liverpool on Sunday.
Anyone fearing a tentative start to the clash this afternoon had those concerns alleviated within the very early stages.
Alejandro Garnacho found the back of the net after taking the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher. However, Bruno Fernandes delayed his pass a fraction of a second too long, and Garnacho strayed offside before running through.
Manchester United star lauded after ‘unbelievable’ moment early on against Liverpool
Liverpool responded by going down the other end of the pitch. That led to Mohamed Salah finding Dominik Szoboszlai, with the Hungarian in all kinds of space on the edge of the United penalty area.
Szoboszlai got a clean strike of the ball away, looking for the far corner. However, Andre Onana did superbly to get a strong hand on the ball to keep it out.
Onana absolutely had to get that moment right. And speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Clinton Morrison suggested that it was a moment of undeniable quality from the goalkeeper.

“It’s an unbelievable save from Onana to be fair,” he said.
“It’s brilliant play from Salah, it’s a great outside of the boot. And I said this will go end to end. Szoboszlai has a shot. Onana’s going one way. It’s a fantastic save, but what a start we’ve had in this game.”
Andre Onana’s doubters now silenced
Szoboszlai seemed to do everything right in that moment. But Onana was able to produce a big moment which ensured that the air was not sucked out of Old Trafford straight away.
Onana has needed some time to find his way at Manchester United. There were times in the opening months of the campaign where Onana was being written off.
But he has grown into the role. Onana was brilliant against Manchester City recently. And that was a big, big save in the early stages against Liverpool on Sunday.
