Everton have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of Denzel Dumfries, with his manager at PSV admitting he is likely to leave.
Dumfries is a target for the Toffees in the summer window. As we’ve reported previously, he is a player Marcel Brands is apparently desperate to bring to Goodison Park.

The Dutch star had been a standout performer for Holland in the Euros until they crashed out last night. However, the nation’s disappoiontment is unlikely to affect Dumfries’ future.
PSV are likely to demand around £30m for Dumfries. That valuation rocketed thanks to his performances in the Euros.
And his manager, Roger Schmidt, has admitted that both Dumfries and Donyell Malen are likely to move on.
What’s been said about Dumfries
Schmidt has been speaking to NOS and is open about PSV’s transfer situation. He makes no bones that the club will be selling, and concedes that’s just how things are in football.
“That’s how it goes in football, especially at PSV, we lose one or two good players every year,” Schmidt said.
“It has been clear to me for some time that Donyell and Denzel are likely to leave. Actually last summer. I also take it into account and if they do stay, that is great. But we have to prepare ourselves that we will have to play without both next season.”
Dumfries a quality upgrade for Everton
Dumfries would certainly be that. He’s proven to be a fine player in this Euros and has done his reputation no harm at all.
But the Toffees will be put off by that supposed £30m asking-price. In a way, they’d have been better making their move before the summer.
Alas, as with any tournament, someone does well and their value sky-rockets.
