Odsonne Edouard was on the score sheet in Sunday’s Old Firm clash as Celtic beat Rangers 2-1.

Celtic went ahead through Edouard but 10-man Rangers hit back through Ryan Kent after Alfredo Morelos was sent off. James Forrest sealed the points for Celtic with a late goal.

And one international defender and Champions League star was particularly impressed with Edouard’s goal. Thomas Meunier took to social media to send Edouard a message and provide his reaction.

The Paris Saint-Germain right-back quoted a tweet which showed a video clip of his goal and he accompanied it with four flame emojis.

Meunier and Edouard were team-mates at PSG, although the Celtic striker never played a senior game for the French champions.

The former France youth international instead spent time on loan with Toulouse and Celtic, before his permanent move to Glasgow in summer 2018.

This season, Edouard has netted 19 goals in 44 games for the Bhoys and he is their first-choice striker at the moment.

The 21-year-old is clearly impressing Belgium international Meunier, who has been linked with a big-money move away from PSG.

With five goals and four assists this season, the 27-year-old is considered to be one of the most dangerous attack-minded full-backs in Europe.

And it seems that he has Celtic star Edouard on his mind over the weekend, showing how impressed he was with the ex-PSG striker’s solo run and finish.
