Liverpool have suffered a setback today as it has been revealed that defender, Joel Matip, will miss the rest of the season thanks to a foot injury and some Reds fans have been reacting to the news.

Reported across various sources, Sky Sports confirmed the news earlier today. It means the Cameroonian will once again miss a period of the season, having already missed a hefty chunk with a knee injury.

And while it won’t mean much for the club in terms of success given they’ve wrapped the league title up, it has given Reds fans something else to talk about.

A number of Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to respond to the news about Matip and it appears that some have had enough of the 28-year-old picking up injuries.

Some fans have called for new signings, some have said it’s time for Matip to be sold, while others have claimed Ki-Jana Hoever should now get his chance.
