Borussia Dortmund prodigy Youssoufa Moukoko, a youngster who previously said he wants to play alongside Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, has made Goal’s NxGn 2020 list of top players born on or after 1 January 2001.
The 15-year-old has been making waves in German football thanks to his prolific goalscoring and assisting exploits – he has registered a staggering 38 goals and 10 assists in just 28 appearances for Dortmund’s youth sides, according to Transfermarkt.
As reported by Goal in December 2018, Moukoko – who is contracted to Dortmund until the summer of 2021 – was asked on Instagram who his dream strike partner would be, and he named Spurs and England talisman Kane.

The teenage sharpshooter has been ranked in 44th place in Goal’s NxGn 2020 list, the outlet writing: “The youngest player ever to both appear and score in the UEFA Youth League, Youssoufa Moukoko only turned 15 in November, making the Cameroon-born Germany Under-16 international arguably the most exciting prospect in the game today.
“The striker will not be allowed to make his Bundesliga debut until the start of the 2021-22 season due to age restriction rules but, given just how many records he is presently breaking, the ‘new Samuel Eto’o’ should prove worth the wait.”
Interestingly, the Bundesliga age restriction rules, which previously stipulated that players could only make their debuts at 17, were lowered to 16 just last week (Goal), so Moukouko can in fact make his league debut after 20 November this year.
TBR View:
Moukoko’s goalscoring record at Under-19s level has been nothing short of staggering, and it’s no surprise that he is now deemed one of the top 50 youngsters in world football by Goal, despite his young age.
With Tottenham sensation Troy Parrott having stepped up to the Under-23s and the fringes of the first team, Spurs should certainly keep tabs on Moukoko with a view to a future move.
While the possibility of playing alongside Kane in first-team action may be a few years off, they could certainly try to make them clubmates for the time being.
