‘Probably’… International defender claims Arsenal have a winger who’s even better than Kaoru Mitoma

Gabriel Martinelli is one of the best wingers in the Premier League these days.

The Arsenal ace is a real threat down that left flank, and there aren’t many players in the Premier League who can match his ability.

Speaking to Goal on TikTok, USA defender Eryk Williamson has been discussing the Arsenal star, and he was asked if he thinks Martinelli or Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma is the better player.

Williamson didn’t take much time to think, and he confidently said that Martinelli is better than the Japan international.

Williamson shared his verdict on these two players.

“Mitoma or Martinelli?” Williamson was asked.

“I’d probably go with Martinelli,” Williamson said.

Both brilliant

This is bound to spark a bit of a debate.

Martinelli and Mitoma are both fantastic players, and having to choose between the pair is a very tough task.

Martinelli is certainly more effective in terms of goalscoring and end product in the final third, but at the same time, he does play for Arsenal, while Mitoma is in a Brighton squad that doesn’t dominate in the same way.

Mitoma is a truly fantastic player. He has every trick in the book when it comes to dribbling, and while his finishing may leave a little to be desired, we mustn’t forget that he’s only been playing Premier League football for 18 months.

These are two of the most talented wingers in the Premier League right now, but, for our money, Martinelli isn’t only the better player, but he’s much more valuable in that he’s younger and probably has the higher ceiling.
