Arsenal newcomer Willian had a competitive debut to remember this weekend, helping Mikel Arteta’s Gunners to a 3-0 win in their 2020-21 Premier League season opener.
The Brazilian, who joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Chelsea in August, was named in the starting XI against Fulham, meaning Nicolas Pepe had to make do with a spot on the bench.
Willian more than justified his selection with an impressive display, assisting for two of Arsenal’s goals.

The 32-year-old also struck the woodwork with a first-half free kick and troubled the opposition defence all game long with his movement and clever passing.
With Arsenal in early action on Saturday and Chelsea not playing until Monday, plenty of Blues fans were following proceedings in West London as their former player ran riot.
Here is what some of the Stamford Bridge faithful said about Willian on social media:
Willian joined Chelsea from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 in a reported £30million move (BBC Sport) and made 339 competitive Blues appearances, registering 63 goals and 62 assists.
In August, he made the switch to North London after leaving West London, penning a three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.
