Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara is reportedly available for just £16million this summer amid interest from Germany and Serie A, but that fee should convince Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers to reignite previous interest.
CalcioNapoli24 have claimed that the 21-year-old can leave Napoli this summer, for £16million. The report states that back in January, Napoli were asking interested parties for as much as £26.7million.
The youngster first arrived on the radar of Tottenham and Wolves after breaking into Napoli’s senior side last season, clocking up 27 appearances in 2017-18. This time around, he was expected to kick on and become a regular.
But it went the other way. Indeed, the Guinea international played only 19 times, 13 of which came in Serie A. Now, Napoli are willing to let the youngster go for just £16million.
Known for his pace in the middle of the park but also his long-lasting stamina, Diawara is renowned for his ability to intercept and break up play as well as keeping possession.
Tottenham need a central midfielder and though they are being heavily linked with a move for Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele, they are still yet to replace the loss of Mousa Dembele back in January.
Wolves could also do with cover for Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves, who shone in their first campaign in the Premier League with the Midlands side. Diawara, at £16million, would be an excellent option.
