Arsenal have reportedly secured the signing of Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.

Now, journalist Ryan Taylor has told GiveMeSport that the Gunners may even announce his arrival in the next few days.

Last week, Charles Watts reported that Arsenal had agreed a deal to sign the 19-year-old.

And on Monday, Fabrizio Romano said Marquinhos to Arsenal was a done deal with full agreement.

The Gunners are reportedly paying around £3million for the Brazilian’s signature.

More recently, Sao Paulo president Julio Casares said Marquinhos was definitely leaving, though he didn’t confirm who he’d be joining.

“Needs to sort out a work permit”

Taylor has claimed that Marquinhos to Arsenal is “pretty much done”, with just a work permit to sort out.

Then, the Gunners will make the announcement, which should be pretty soon, added the Daily Express reporter.

“Marquinhos will happen, that’s pretty much done,” he told GiveMeSport.

“It’s just a case of the fact that he needs to sort a work permit.

“From my information, it was that Arsenal were going to announce that in the coming weeks.

“It could even be the next couple of days, just like the agreement.”

As per Goal.com, Arsenal have apparently taken advantage of a contract loophole to land Marquinhos for such a low price.

Sao Paulo reluctantly had to accept the offer due to fears he could leave for free, despite his current deal not due to expire in 2024.

Marquinhos is a winger who can also play up front, and his preferred role is wide out on the right so he can cut inside on his favoured left foot.

The Brazil youth international, has made 40 appearances in total for Sao Paulo, registering four goals and three assists.

Arsenal have reportedly signed him up as one for the future, and his arrival will not have an impact on the Gunners’ main summer transfer plans.
