Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon appears closer than ever to a Parkhead exit after telling talkSPORT that talks with the Hoops over a new deal “haven’t been particularly good”.
Gordon is out of contract at Celtic and, although Neil Lennon reportedly wants to keep hold of the 37-year-old, the offer made is said to be significantly lower that his last contract.
According to the Scottish Sun, Gordon was in line for an 80 percent reduction on his last deal, and the player himself told talkSPORT that the gap was “absolutely enormous”.

The Scotland international is also believed to be on the radar of boyhood club Hearts, the Scottish Sun claiming they’ve offered him a two-year deal with the possibility of a further 12 month extension.
Gordon waxed lyrical about his former club, telling talkSPORT: “Hearts is Hearts, it’s such a huge club. That was my boyhood club and they mean so much to me.
“It doesn’t matter what league Hearts are in. Hearts are still a huge club. You look at what they’re doing off the field with the amount of season tickets they’ve sold already, it’s huge compared to a vast number of teams in Scotland.
“They’re still going to be a massive club regardless of what division they’re in. So that doesn’t come into play too much. Everything that goes on will all go into my decision, what division teams are in, how many games are played, it’s all things I’m going to consider in the next few weeks.”
Here is what some Hearts fans think of the prospect of the 6ft 4in stopper making a return to Tynecastle:
