A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise Dion Sanderson’s efforts in the Black Cats’ League One victory today.
The Stadium of Light outfit ran out 3-0 winners away at Burton, taking the lead after just six minutes when Grant Leadbitter rifled home from over 20 yards out.
Aiden McGeady rolled a free kick into the 35-year-old’s path, who in turn found the back of the net with a powerful effort through the crowded box.

Lynden Gooch had a shot kept out by Ben Garratt early on in the game but succeeded in getting the better of the Brewers stopper just after the half-hour mark.
Garratt punched a corner clear under pressure, but the American let rip with a shot on his weaker foot that went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Burton were then reduced to ten men when Sean Clare was shown a second yellow for his involvement in a tussle with Aiden O’Brien.
Sunderland then put the game firmly beyond doubt on 76 minutes as Charlie Wyke struck his 18th league goal this season.
As good as Lee Johnson’s charges were in the final third, Sanderson was praised for a superb performance which looked a cut above in this division.
The Wolves on-loan ace’s quality and composure on the ball were instrumental in helping his side deal with Burton’s press, bailing the Black Cats out on several occasions.
Here is what some Sunderland fans on social media were saying about the 21-year-old’s performance:
