A host of Premier League sides are chasing Kemar Roofe but staying at Leeds United would be the best option for his career.
Roofe has been on fire so far this season and it is no surprise to see top flight clubs circling.
According to the print edition of The Sunday Mirror, via HITC Sport, Roofe is a target for Crystal Palace, Southampton and Wolves in January.
The lure of playing Premier League football will surely be tempting for Roofe.
But staying at Leeds is the most sensible thing he can do.
At Leeds, he is the main man. He is guaranteed a starting spot up front and the team plays with him as the focal point up front.
But if he went to Crystal Palace, he would play second fiddle to Wilfried Zaha. At Southampton, Danny Ings is the top striker. And at Wolves, he would be behind Raul Jimenez in the pecking order.
Moreover, this is Roofe’s best season to date. Prior to this campaign, he was merely a fringe player at Leeds.
Before he makes the step up to the top flight, the 25-year-old needs to prove himself over a longer period of time in the second tier.
With seven goals in 10 games for Leeds this season, he has the chance to do something special.
Staying with the Whites is surely the best option available to Roofe this January.
