Premier League teams on tour

The Premier League’s biggest clubs are going global this summer. Here’s a look at where they are heading.

Manchester United

The Prem champions start pre-season in Thailand with a game against a Singha All Stars XI, before flying to Australia for a match against the A-League All Stars.

Next they travel to Japan for a couple of games, then on to Hong Kong and Sweden before finally heading back to Old Trafford for Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial.

Chelsea

Jose Mourinho’s side are heading to Asia for friendlies in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia before flying out to the USA to play Inter in the International Champions Cup.

The Blues has an end of season tour of the USA where they lost twice to Manchester City, so they’ll want to show their American fans that they’re still a powerful force.

Jul. 25 BNI Indonesia All-Stars – Jakarta

Aug. 1 Inter Milan – Indianapolis

Arsenal

The Gunners kick off their pre-season with a game against an Indonesia Dream Team in Jakarta, before making the short trip to Vietnam to play their national team.

They then play two games in Japan, before flying to England for the Emirates Cup. Finally it’s off to Finland for a glamour friendly versus Man City.

Manchester City

City aren’t giving new boss Manuel Pellegrini an easy start – they’ve got games in South Africa, Hong Kong, Germany and Finland during a hectic pre-season.

They start off with two games in SA as part of the Nelson Mandela Football Invitational, before playing in the Barclays Asia trophy, the Audi Cup in Germany and against Arsenal in Finland.

Liverpool

The Reds are racking up the air miles this summer. They start off with a friendly against Preston at Deepdale, before games in Indonesia, Australia and Thailand.

Then it’s back to Anfield for Steven Gerrards testimonial, before matches in Norway and Ireland to complete the tour.
