Right-Forward: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Harry Kane’s purple patch just goes on and on. He bagged himself a brace this week against Everton, and could have had a hat-trick were it not for Joel Robles’ heroics in thwarting the England striker at a tight angle when he looked in for another treble.

There was no way Robles was keeping out the opener though. The Everton defender seemed to stand still as Kane took up possession and ventured inside, before he punished their hesitancy to intervene with a 25-yard rocket beyond Robles’ despairing dive to the right. The second showed his opportunistic streak, as he took advantage of Robles’ poor ball out to Morgan Schneiderlin to dispossess the Frenchman and coolly finish across goal for Spurs’ second. He now has 14 league goals at White Hart Lane this season, the highest number of goals on home turf of any Tottenham player in a single Premier League season.

Centre-Forward: Fernando Llorente (Swansea City)

Swansea City have an old-fashioned Number Nine on their hands in Fernando Llorente, and it is his goals that have played and will continue to play a starring role if the Swans are to continue their revival and dodge the drop. The Spaniard may well have managed more than the two goals he did score against Burnley, and is relishing life at the Liberty Stadium at the minute if the quality of service from the flanks this weekend is anything to go by.

Llorente gobbled up the chance to net Swansea’s opener from Leroy Fer’s inch-perfect cross, and he netted another wonderful headed goal from Tom Carroll’s sweeping ball in. Luciano Narsingh was another to cause the visitors problems down the opposite flank, with Llorente unlucky not to capitalise further. His presence and potency makes him a real handful for defenders to deal with, and he was just too hot for Burnley to handle on this occasion.

Left-Forward: Leroy Sané (Manchester City)

Leroy Sané was a thorn in the side of Sunderland throughout their clash at the Stadium of Light, and he is growing into a real player and proving true Pep Guardiola’s words that he is improving as a player by the day.

Far from what his slender frame suggests, Sané proved his strength and power in possession, showing an impressive ability to hold-up the ball and retain it going forward, as well as electric pace to boot. His skill and speed threatened in the first-half, with the German very nearly laying the ball on for David Silva with a fizzed low cross which just evaded its target, before the roles were reversed after the break, Silva feeding Sané, who emphatically finished left-footed via the post to put the game out of Sunderland’s reach.

Regular minutes at the Etihad is proving a real boost to this young man’s development, and on this evidence he may yet grow to become a world-class player.
