Coach: Paul Clement (Swansea City)

Formation: 3-4-3

Paul Clement’s turnaround at the Liberty Stadium since arriving in January has been quite remarkable, and it was obvious against Burnley that he has implemented a purpose in the way that the Swans go about playing football, monopolising possession and chances against their Lancashire visitors. They were made to work hard for it though, and one almost got the impression that it wouldn’t be there day, after referee Anthony Taylor wrongly awarded Burnley a penalty for a handball in the Swansea box, which turned out to be from Clarets’ front-man Sam Vokes, which Andre Gray duly dispatched to equalise before the former Luton and Brentford man struck again in the second-half to put the visitors ahead.

Even in such circumstances, Clement rallied his players and galvanised them with the belief that they could get back into the game, and they roared back with Martin Olsson’s thumping leveller before a stunning header from Fernando Llorente won it in stoppage-time, prompting Clement to rush down the touchline, very much reminiscent of José Mourinho. That epitomised just how much the game meant to him and his players, and the ecstasy all around the Liberty was evidence of that being reciprocated by the fans. If those Swansea supporters keep seeing their side play they this, they should have little need to worry about their Premier League status this season.
