Centre-Midfield: Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

An ageing presence in midfield and a player that has found himself on the periphery at times this season, it is a testament to the professionalism of Cesc Fabregas that he has produced some fantastic performances when called upon by Antonio Conte and this was hugely evident against Bournemouth.

The Ivorian looks a born again player, if that could even seem possible, under the Catalan manager at the Etihad, and he was his usual imposing presence in midfield in the away match against Hull, controlling the midfield and splitting the Tigers defence with a show of incisive passing.

When he then had to step up under pressure to make the breakthrough from the spot, he duly dispatched it. That means he has scored all ten of his Premier League penalties, the best 100% spot-kick record in the competition’s history.
