Premier League: Team of the Week XII feat. Sunderland and Manchester United stars
It was an enthralling Matchday Twelve across the weekend in the Premier League, which returned following the latest international break. As the weekend drew to a conclusion, Chelsea moved top of the table with a sixth straight win away at Middlesbrough to leapfrog previous leaders Liverpool, who had to settle for a point at St. Mary’s against a dogged and determined Southampton.
Elsewhere, Arsenal needed a late Olivier Giroud goal to rescue a point at Manchester United, whilst Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, AFC Bournemouth and Watford all picked up wins.
Sunderland helped ease the pressure off manager David Moyes and aid their bid to avoid the drop with a comprehensive 3-0 win at home to Hull, whilst Swansea City go bottom after conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at Everton.
The weekend’s Monday Night action saw West Bromwich Albion face off against Burnley at the Hawthorns, and it was a forgettable night for the visitors, as they were walloped 4-0 by Tony Pulis’ men.
But who stepped up to the plate more than others to make The Boot Room’s Pick of the Week?
