Premier League: Team of the Week VIII
After the international break, there was excitement aplenty for the return of the Premier League over the weekend, and an action-packed Matchday VIII across the weekend, it is fair to say, had absolutely everything. There were red cards, late goals, a hatful of strikes to enjoy, and more notably, a succession of penalty misses.
Manchester City twice fluffed their lines from the spot to draw 1-1 with Everton, and Christian Benteke also missed from 12 yards as Crystal Palace fell to a 0-1 home defeat against struggling West Ham.
Hull were humbled on the South Coast in a 6-1 defeat to a brilliant Bournemouth, Chelsea hit three past defending champions Leicester, who suffered their fourth straight defeat on the road, and ten-man Arsenal clung on to beat Swansea 3-2 at the Emirates, the visitors playing their first game under new manager Bob Bradley.
But who were the best of the best in a Matchday VIII fraught with drama to make The Boot Room’s Team of the Week?
