Right-Forward: Troy Deeney (Watford)

Troy Deeney’s performances for Watford were of vast importance last season and the powerful forward appears to be having the same impact on the Hornets again this season. He was fantastic against Bournemouth, almost netting from an overhead kick effort but did get the goal he deserved, his 99th goal for the club. His strength movement and aerial ability always makes him a handful in the opposition penalty area, and the questions are now being raised over a potential England call-up.

He has missed out on a summon to the national side for this next international break, but if he can maintain this form, a call-up cannot be far away.

Centre-Forward: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Spain international Diego Costa’s finish away at Hull not only killed the game, but it was cool, ruthless and emphatic to signal that the Blues had made their response after back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal.

Since joining Chelsea he has netted 38 Premier League goals, only Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane have scored more in that time, and he showed his quality and his importance to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea once more here. He is a focal point for Chelsea at the moment in times where the shine may be coming off their lustre of old, but he is scoring the goals to keep the West Londoners in the hunt.

Left-Forward: Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace)

Christian Benteke’s swapping of Anfield for Selhurst Park seems to have been a match made in heaven. Not only are former club Liverpool firing on all cylinders but Benteke is in the midst of a sensational scoring run for his new club.

He won an incredible nine balls in the air during his sides 1-1 draw at Everton, but it was his headed equaliser for the Eagles which was the most crucial. Joel Ward’s deep, sweeping cross gave the Belgian much work to do, but he made his looping effort look easy and left Maarten Stekelenburg stranded as the visitors gained another impressive result on the road.
