Premier League Team of the Week II
After a show-stopper of an opening weekend, the Premier League returned for its second instalment of the new season, kicking off with Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Southampton on Friday night; the grand homecoming of the new most expensive player in the world, Paul Pogba.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic even at the age of 34 showed that he has some tricks up his sleeve as he bagged a brace at Old Trafford, Burnley picked up their first ever Premier League win over Liverpool with a sensational 2-0 triumph at Turf Moor, Pep Guardiola’s renaissance of Manchester City continued with an emphatic win at Stoke, defending champions Leicester got their first point of the new season and West Ham United made it a winning homecoming in the first ever Premier League game at the new London Stadium, with a late 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
Those were just some of the highlights of another fantastic weekend of Premier League football, but amongst all the goals, trickery and drama, who stood out the most to make it into The Boot Room’s pick for the best XI of the weekend?
