According to reports from the weekend, Rangers now face competition in their attempt to turn Ryan Kent’s loan deal into a permanent one.

Premier League side Fulham are interested in signing Ryan Kent from Liverpool on a permanent deal in the summer, as per The Scottish Sun.

Fulham are likely to be in direct competition with Rangers, who are keen to keep Kent after his fine performances in the Scottish Premiership.

The 22-year-old is on loan from Liverpool and has been a constant threat on the wing for Steven Gerrard’s men. Gerrard rates him highly and was the one who brought him to Ibrox in the first place.

Kent has scored five goals and assisted nine more in 37 games in all competitions this season and he will be a priority for Rangers in the summer.

Whether the Gers look to sign him permanently or whether they look to negotiate another season-long loan remains to be seen.

But their task has got harder with Fulham willing to spend money on the speedy young winger. Rangers might not be able to match the Cottagers, who will be armed with parachute payments when their almost-inevitable relegation is confirmed.

This means Rangers must act quickly if they are to get another deal for Kent over the line.
