A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to wish William Saliba a happy birthday, admitting they can’t wait until the Gunners signing is finally at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of the teenage centre-half last summer in a £27million deal from Saint-Etienne (BBC Sport).
However, Arsenal had to loan Saliba back to the Ligue 1 club for the entirety of the 2019-20 season as part of the deal.

Saliba missed a large part of the campaign through injury but impressed on his return against Monaco at the end of January and duly returned to the starting XI prior to the unprecedented football suspension.
Since the Saliba deal was made, Arsenal replaced Unai Emery with Mikel Arteta, who bolstered the defensive ranks in January with Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares on loan from Flamengo and Southampton respectively.
While Mari and Cedric are on loan, they could yet see their deals made permanent by Arsenal, but the enthusiasm around Saliba, who turned 19 on Tuesday, is still sky high amongst the Gunners fanbase.
Here is how some fans reacted to Arsenal’s birthday message to Saliba:
