Predicting the results of Tottenham's festive 2022/23 fixtures as Premier League resumes

Tottenham face three Premier League games between Boxing Day and 4 January as part of the frantic festive period – here are our predictions.

Antonio Conte’s men face London rivals Brentford on Boxing Day before a clash with Aston Villa on New Year’s Day and another London derby with Crystal Palace.

Spurs earned four points from the corresponding fixtures last season, drawing 0-0 at Brentford, beating Villa 2-1 at home and losing 3-0 at Palace under Nuno Espirito Santo.

How many points will Spurs get from a possible nine this time around? We’ve taken a look…

Brentford (A) – Win

This will not be an easy game, because the Bees have a real appetite and aptitude for upsetting the big boys.

Coming into this early kick-off straight off the back of the World Cup will be a challenge, especially for the likes of Harry Kane.

But Spurs were finding ways of getting the job done before the World Cup and they will hope to do the same in this one.

Aston Villa (H) – Win

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery may get an interesting reception on his return to the other half of north London and he is making progress at Villa Park.

This may be another high scoring game but Spurs have a decent amount of recovery time from Boxing Day and should get another win here.

It is so important to get some momentum going after the World Cup and Spurs will expect to do exactly that going into the new year.

Crystal Palace (A) – Draw

Emerson Royal really struggled up against Wilfried Zaha in the same fixture last season, albeit under a different manager and on his debut.

Conte likes his side to play on the break but Palace are adept at that too and it could be something of a game of cat and mouse.

The final games of the festive period tend to be slightly drab and low on energy and that may be the case here, although of course Spurs are capable of getting all three points if they are at their best.
