Predicting Leeds United’s next five Premier League results

Leeds will be looking forward to returning from the international break to Premier League action, given they’re on a bit of a miserable run.

Two successive weeks of conceding four goals has ensured the Whites have dropped down the table. However, knowing how the Leeds players are and the drive that comes from Marcelo Bielsa, it’s a run they’ll be keen to curb.

Leeds’ run of fixtures is not the most ideal, however. They return with a home tie against Arsenal, before tricky away trips to Everton and Chelsea are followed by two winnable home fixtures against West Ham and Newcastle.

So, just how will the Elland Road outfit get on in what could be a crucial run of fixtures and results? We’ve taken a look here with our best guess at how things might play out.

Arsenal – H

The Gunners can be got at but they also possess enough quality to hurt Leeds on the counter-attack like we have seen the likes of Leicester and Crystal Palace do.

Leeds will give it a good go and try and get at Mikel Arteta’s men, but will find themselves coming up just short at Elland Road.

Prediction – Leeds 1 – 3 Arsenal

Everton – A

A tricky evening clash with the Toffees is not the ideal away game to try and get back up and running on the road.

However, Everton have faltered themselves of late and are a team who Leeds can hurt. While Ancelotti’s men will be favourites, we fancy Leeds to nick something at Goodison and get a crucial point on the board.

Chelsea – A

A game that will prove too much for Leeds in terms of their defensive play, Chelsea are one team who could run riot against the Whites.

Hakim Ziyech is looking brilliant, while Timo Werner is getting better and better by the week. Chelsea’s pace will prove too much for Leeds in this one and it could be a long day at the office for the Whites.

Prediction – Chelsea 3 – 0 Leeds

West Ham – H

A game that will look like a winnable affair on paper but could also turn into a game of high frustration as Moyes sets his Hammers up to spoil the day.

A lot could depend on if Michail Antonio plays here. If he does, Leeds could suffer on the break. However, they’ll have enough in the tank to squeeze a result out and a draw looks a fair prediction at Elland Road.

Newcastle United – H

Finally, Leeds take on Steve Bruce’s inconsistent Magpies just ten days before Christmas. This is one that Leeds will be looking to win and given Bruce will set his team up to defend, it will be down to Leeds to break them down.

Expect the likes of Rodrigo, Raphinha, and Pablo Hernandez to be vital for Leeds here in breaking down a stubborn Newcastle side. But they’ll manage it, and get a welcome three points on the board.

Prediction – Leeds 2 – 0 Newcastle United
