Predicted Liverpool XI v Crystal Palace: Konate starts as Klopp makes two changes
Liverpool face Crystal Palace at Anfield today knowing that this is another very winnable game for them on paper in the Premier League.
Following last week’s win at Leeds and the midweek triumph against AC Milan, the Reds have another golden chance to add three points towards their title charge this season.
Patrick Vieira’s men arrive in Liverpool in good nick themselves, though. A win against Spurs last time out gave the Frenchman his first as Palace boss, and he’ll be hoping his side can continue that good form.
Liverpool v Crystal Palace Team News
Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a couple of changes after the midweek Champions League clash with Milan. It’s only natural, and we’ll see this more and more from the big teams in the coming weeks.
The big decision is who to play at centre-back. Virgil van Dijk is likely to return having sat out Wednesday’s win. Joel Matip has played every minute so far, but he could get a rest, with Ibrahima Konate potentially in line for a debut.
In midfield, the injury to Harvey Elliott has opened the door for Jordan Henderson or Curtis Jones to make their move. James Milner, too, could also get the nod if needed.
Up front, it is the usual dilemma of Jota or Firmino for Klopp. Jota has, so far, been his go to man this term. But he knows what he has in Firmino, while Divock Origi even impressed in midweek to stake his own claim.
Here, then, is how we see Liverpool lining up as they face Crystal Palace at Anfield this afternoon.
