Predicted Liverpool XI: Oxlade Chamberlain and Gordon start
Liverpool take on Norwich in the Carabao Cup this evening and Jurgen Klopp is expected to ring some changes.
The Reds are currently flying high in the Premier League and this will be a good chance for the boss to rotate his squad.
Norwich have lost all five of their league games so far. It’s a sense of Deja Vu for Daniel Farke who has struggled on each occasion in the Premier League.
Ahead of tonight’s game, we looked at how Liverpool boss Klopp could choose to line his team up.
Potential Liverpool line up:
In goal and back four
Caoimhin Kelleher is currently the backup goalkeeper and he will get a run out in place of Alisson.
At right-back, the effervescent James Milner could come in for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Conor Bradley was taken out of the Under-23 squad at the weekend and could be on the bench, however.
Nat Phillips will be disappointed to have been shunted down the pecking order this season. He should partner Joe Gomez at centre-back who has also struggled for game time.
At left-back, Kostas Tsimikas should get another chance to shine.
Curtis Jones will definitely play and bring up 50 outings for Liverpool. Pep Lijnders basically confirmed this during his press conference yesterday.
He is likely to be joined by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita in what looks like a strong midfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain needs minutes. The £120,000-a-week man struggled with injuries last season and will want to impress.
Keita was introduced in place of the injured Thiago at the weekend and capped his display with a wonderful goal.
The Guinean is also at something of a crossroads in his Liverpool career.
Young Kaide Gordon looks set to make his first-team bow. The ex-Derby County starlet has been doing great things with the academy ranks and could earn a start here.
The 16-year-old looks ready and did sample first-team action during his time with the Rams.
Takumi Minamino could start on the left-hand side. He has been on the bench so far this season but is yet to play any football.
Divock Origi is likely to spearhead the attack, with Liverpool unable to find a buyer for the 29-cap Belgian in the summer.
