'Top quality' £34m man starts with Xhaka: Arsenal's predicted XI to face Juventus today
Arsenal take on Juventus in a friendly today as they look to complete a fine set of preparation fixtures ahead of the Premier League’s return in just over a week.
The Gunners have enjoyed a fine warm weather training camp and have picked up good wins against the likes of Lyon and AC Milan along the way. Now, a return to The Emirates on an icy cold London sees Arsenal face Juventus in their final friendly.
Of course, a lot of eyes will be on Mikel Arteta’s team selection. He has some calls to make in terms of who gets minutes after the World Cup, while a number of youngsters could be involved again as well.
So, just what’s the team news and how will Arsenal line up to face Juve? We’ve taken a look here.
Arsenal team news for Juventus
Apart from William Saliba, who is still with France in Qatar, Mikel Arteta could technically choose from nearly everyone in his squad. Of course, Gabriel Jesus is out, while Oleksandr Zinchenko has been trying to get back fit and this game could come too soon.
However, there could be minutes for Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale. The England duo are back and ready to go, as is Gabriel Martinelli.
Granit Xhaka could also start having come back, while £34m signing Fabio Vieira is likely to be given another chance to impress in the attacking midfield roles. Up front, Eddie Nketiah will be hoping to get in and among the goals and play himself into some form ahead of the restart.
