Predicted Aston Villa XI v Southampton: Hourihane returns as Smith makes one change

Aston Villa take on Southampton in the early afternoon kick-off today as Dean Smith’s men look to get back on track following their loss against Leeds last week.

The Villans were overwhelmed by the Whites last weekend and are back at Villa Park today looking to see off a Southampton side who have been impressive themselves this term.

Smith faces a tough choice in a couple of areas, namely in midfield, where Ross Barkley is now a regular and Douglas Luiz has been instrumental thus far.

However, the Villa boss could well opt to make a change in the middle and Conor Hourihane is one of the players who we think could well push either Luiz or Barkley out of the team for tomorrow’s game.

With that, here’s our predicted Aston Villa XI as they look to see off Southampton today.
