Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Manchester City: Two changes from West Ham win

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to retain Arsenal’s unbeaten Premier League form since the turn of the year but face a difficult task with a trip to Manchester City on Wednesday evening – and here is his predicted line-up.

The Gunners return to action for the first time since a late Alexandre Lacazette goal found the back of the net during a 1-0 win over West Ham United at The Emirates on March 7.

Since then, the global health crisis has taken over – allowing injured players to recover. Calum Chambers remains sidelined while Lucas Torreira is a major doubt and unlikely to be risked – as he recovers from an ankle fracture.

Cedric Soares also remains sidelined after picking up a facial injury and missing both behind-closed-doors friendlies against Championship sides Charlton Athletic and Brentford. Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney have returned.

Pablo Mari started during the 1-0 win over West Ham and the January recruit could be in line to make his third competitive appearance for The Gunners, since joining the club on loan from Brazilian side Flamengo.

Eddie Nketiah is unlikely to be thrown in the deep end against Manchester City and with Tierney back, Bukayo Saka could move forward to left wing and allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to start up front.

We predict two changes from the win over West Ham, with Bellerin and Tierney returning to the side in place of Nketiah and £18million signing (Star) Sokratis – who played at right-back against West Ham.

Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, Pablo Mari, David Luiz, Kieran Tierney; Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos; Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil, Bukayo Saka; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
