Tottenham Hotspur may now have their work cut out if they want to land Youri Tielemans, with The Sun reporting Manchester City are eyeing the Belgian as a possible replacement for David Silva.

Apparently the Spanish playmaker has a lucrative two-year offer on the table from a club in Qatar.

The 33-year-old is undoubtedly nearing the end of his amazing City career that his seen him win 11 trophies at the Etihad Stadium so far.

The Sun believe Pep Guardiola is planning for life after Silva and Tielemans fits the bill.

The 22-year-old impressed on loan at Leicester City for the second half of 2018/19, and a number of clubs are said to be chasing the AS Monaco man.

One of those clubs is Tottenham, who will really need to get to work now if they want the midfielder with City reportedly lurking.

Spurs simply must replace Mousa Dembele this summer and his compatriot Tielemans would be absolutely ideal.

His potential is vast and he has superb physical and technical qualities.

Under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino, he could become a top player.

Having just won the domestic treble, Manchester City are obviously an attractive proposition for any player so Spurs could struggle.

But winning the Champions League next weekend would certainly stand them in better stead.
