Tottenham Hotspur may have received a boost amid reports that they are interested in Joachim Andersen ahead of the summer.

Andersen has been hugely impressive during his loan spell at Fulham. And Football London has now claimed that Spurs are monitoring the Dane ahead of the upcoming window.

It is suggested that signing a new defender is a priority for Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy. And Andersen is one of the names being considered.

Football London did note that he will not come cheap. He has three years left on his contract with Lyon.

But it appears that his parent club would not be surprised to see him across the Channel once again next year.

As reported by The Sun, the Ligue 1 side’s sporting director Juninho has suggested that he believes that Andersen would like to remain in England.

“I think he will want to extend his adventure in the Premier League,” he said, as reported by The Sun.

“He has played well at Fulham, and if he wants to come back, we will welcome him with open arms.”

Of course, that will certainly boost Spurs’ hopes should they confirm their interest with a bid in the summer.

Fulham remain in a precarious situation in the fight to stay up. So they may not be able to offer Premier League football next year.

Juninho’s comments reinforce the idea that he will not be sold on the cheap. But it certainly appears that Lyon are ready to leave the door open for a club to offer Andersen the chance to stay in England.
