Potential Leeds XI vs Hull: Three summer signings start Carabao Cup tie

Leeds United have been handed a good tie for the second round of the Carabao Cup, with recently-relegated Hull City travelling to Elland Road later this month.

Marcelo Bielsa’s priority will obviously be the Premier League. But the tie with Hull provides the Whites with a good opportunity to have a look at a few youngsters, including a handful of players who arrived at Elland Road during the summer.

It will be very interesting to see how Leeds line up against Liverpool this weekend. Some fans may be hoping to see the likes of Robin Koch and Rodrigo Moreno involved in some capacity.

And in truth, it may well be that both marquee additions actually make their debuts against Hull. But perhaps, it should not be a surprise if Bielsa opts for a much younger side against the Tigers.

With that in mind, here is what Leeds could look like in their second round tie…

Leeds XI vs Hull

Elia Caprile could get the nod ahead of Kiko Casilla. In fairness, it is the latter who has been more involved in pre-season with Illan Meslier away on international duty.

The first new signing in the lineup is Cody Drameh. With Luke Ayling potentially needed to also provide centre-back cover this weekend, it surely makes a lot of sense for the former Fulham youngster to start against Hull.

Liam Cooper provides some experience to the back four. But perhaps there is every chance that it is Koch who starts depending on how involved he is at Anfield. Charlie Cresswell is also catching the eye in pre-season.

Charlie Allen could be a surprise inclusion in attacking midfield. The 16-year-old looks to have every chance of being a regular for the under-23s by the end of the season.

And up front may well be Joe Gelhardt. The striker did not get on the field when his old side Wigan Athletic thrashed Hull 8-0 last season. But this could be a fantastic opportunity for the teenager to potentially open his account for Leeds.

How seriously should Leeds take the Carabao Cup following promotion to the Premier League? And who would you like to see involved against Hull?
