Arsenal and Liverpool’s reported pursuits of Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma might have just been handed a huge boost. That is because The Athletic claim the Seagulls are keen on signing Salzburg star Enock Mwepu. Brighton getting Mwepu might help Arsenal and Liverpool sign Bissouma.
Mwepu, 23, has starred for Salzburg over the past 12 months, having a hand in 17 goals in 45 games for the Austrians. They won the league title under Jesse Marsch, again. The American gaffer has since joined Leipzig, while Patson Daka has signed for Leicester. Mwepu could be the next to leave.
Reports from Salzburger Nachrichten claim Mwepu – the ‘next Yaya Toure’ – can go this summer. Now, The Athletic state that Mwepu is a £20million target for Graham Potter’s side this summer. It could be a boost for Arsenal and Liverpool, with The Sun stating both are keen on Bissouma.

Brighton hardly going to sell Bissouma to Liverpool or Arsenal, without a replacement
Brighton, from a business point of view, were hardly going to sell Bissouma until they get someone in. Bringing Mwepu in for half the price they expect to sell Bissouma for is brilliant business. But it also allows Liverpool and Arsenal to sign Bissouma.
Mwepu is the perfect replacement for Bissouma. Even we at TBR Football wrote recently that Arsenal should consider Mwepu – if they could not sign Bissouma. So, Brighton signing Mwepu will surely convince them to sanction Bissouma’s asking price – a boost for both Liverpool and Arsenal.
