Deco has posted on Instagram after Leeds United confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Raphinha from French club Stade Rennais – applauding the young Brazilian star on his move and wishing him luck at Elland Road.
Raphinha was announced by Leeds in the final hour of the summer window on Monday evening, completing a £17million plus add-ons move to Elland Road. The 23-year-old has penned a four-year contract with the newly-promoted Premier League side.
The move came little over 24 hours after Raphinha had netted in a 2-2 draw for Rennes against Stade Reims, but sees Marcelo Bielsa finally add a winger to his squad – after being linked with the likes of Ryan Kent, Rodrigo De Paul and others.
Former Porto, Barcelona and Chelsea star Deco has become an agent since retirement, opening up a firm called D20 Sports – which represented Raphinha in his move to Leeds. He posted on Instagram from Elland Road, wishing Raphinha well.
The post is translated as: “Good luck Raphinha. Every day, you are conquering a little more on this long journey of success.”

TBR’s view – Raphinha the perfect Bielsa winger
Bags of pace, an eye for goal, the ability to create for teammates and the versatility to play on either wing or behind the striker – Raphinha has plenty of footballing characteristics that Bielsa looks for in a player.
Though he may not have been first choice, Raphinha has shown commitment to the cause too – choosing to join Leeds instead of remaining with Rennes as they embark on a Champions League campaign. A very good signing for Leeds.
