On-loan Tottenham midfielder Harvey White delivered a match-winning performance on Tuesday night – and some Portsmouth fans on Twitter were left raving about the youngster’s performance for them.

Spurs decided to send the 19-year-old out on loan in the January transfer window, as he joined a Portsmouth team that are hoping for promotion from League One.

The teenager scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory last night away to Oxford United, as he netted a powerful 12-yard header into the net.

White made his first start for Portsmouth in the midweek league win and surely seized his opportunity.

He’s a defensive midfielder by trade and has usually played in the centre of the park during youth level, but he was effective in a wide position against Oxford and it looks like he could now be set for more minutes at Fratton Park.

The youngster previously made his first-team debut for Spurs earlier in the season, with manager Joe Mourinho using him in both the FA Cup and Europa League, but this spell out on loan should be a huge part of his development.
