'Absolute mustard', 'Top class': Some fans blown away by Arsenal owned star after draw
Arsenal have some talented youngsters in their ranks and one of them is Miguel Azeez who is currently out on loan at Portsmouth.
It’s fair to say the temporary switch isn’t really going according to plan.
The Gunners maestro came on for 17 minutes of last night’s 1-1 draw with Cheltenham for only his second outing for Pompey.
Azeez has largely been kept on the bench by boss Danny Cowley; with some reports suggesting Arsenal may consider recalling him.
At 19 he does have bags of time on his side and training with men each day will only benefit him in the long run.
Playing games is also key though. Arsenal won’t want Azeez stagnating at Fratton Park and there could be a decision to make in January.
Last season saw the youngster spread his playing time across the under-18 and under-23 ranks. He also made the bench for some Europa League games, playing for seven minutes against Dundalk.
It had been anticipated that Azeez would kick on at Portsmouth. It hasn’t transpired in such a fashion and that makes for a baffling situation.
What have Portsmouth fans said about Arsenal man Azeez?
It’s fair to say they were impressed with his performance during last night’s contest. Plenty are even keen to see him play more for Pompey in the coming weeks.
The talented midfielder will be desperate to showcase what he’s capable of and will hope to get the nod from Cowley more often.
He reacted on Twitter following last night’s cameo and plenty of fans have been responding to the teenager on social media.
Here is what they had to say as Azeez earned some rare time on the pitch against Cheltenham last night.
