Pontus Jansson has posted on Instagram after returning to Elland Road for the first time as Brentford captain following his Leeds United exit earlier in the summer – and some of his old teammates replied.
Jansson, 28, joined Brentford for a fee believed to be in the region of £5.5million, claiming that Leeds asked the Swedish defender to depart this summer in order to comply with Financial Fairplay rules.
There were rumours, though, that Jansson and Marcelo Bielsa had disagreed and the Argentine boss wanted the Swede to leave. Joining in the summer of 2016 under Garry Monk, Jansson clocked up 120 appearances for Leeds in all competitions.
The former Torino defender posted on Instagram after the match, which saw Leeds get revenge on the colossal centre-back with a 1-0 win thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s late winner, describing Leeds as a “good team”.
It has been a difficult start to life at Griffin Park for Jansson, as the defender has failed to help Thomas Frank’s side from suffering two defeats in four league games – picking up just four points from a possible 12.
Meanwhile, Leeds are sitting at the top of the Championship table, with 10 points from a possible 12. Kalvin Phillips, Tyler Roberts and Kiko Casilla all reacted to Jansson’s post on Instagram.
