Leeds United picked up another win in the Championship today with a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. It was great news for Leeds, but not the only good news they received today.
Leeds also announced that 29-year-old midfielder Mateusz Klich has signed a new deal at the club.
The Polish international has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at Elland Road. It was welcome news for Leeds fans, with Klich becoming a firm fan favourite in West Yorkshire since his move from FC Twente in 2017.
It was not just Leeds fans who were happy with the news. Former Leeds United cult hero Pontus Jansson also seemed very happy to hear his old pal had received a new deal. The Swedish defender, who joined Brentford in a reported (Yorkshire Post) £5.5 million deal this summer, took to Twitter to congratulate the midfield dynamo.
Well deserved Matti ❤️❤️

Klich is certainly deserving of his new contract. After initially struggling to make an impact at Elland Road and being shipped out on loan to FC Utrecht by Thomas Christiansen he returned and was immediately put back in the team by new boss Marcelo Bielsa.
He has since become a fan favourite for both his on-field efforts and off-field personality.
Leeds United fans will just hope a new contract can help keep Klich in top form for the rest of the season, as they continue their hunt for Championship promotion.
