Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen could have a part to play for the Lilywhites, after he failed to secure a move away from the club in January.
The Dutchman, who hasn’t appeared all season for Mauricio Pochettino, was in talks with Schalke 04 about a possible loan move to the Bundesliga on Thursday according to The Daily Mail.

A move didn’t materialise though and after some more speculation that he could still leave in February (The Evening Standard), Pochettino has now revealed he intends to give Janssen a chance in the first-team again.
Speaking in a news conference, he said as quoted by The Sun: “He will be involved in the squad again. He was injured, we tried to find solution, the player wanted to leave.
“My responsibility is that I have to treat people the best way. The plan was for him to leave.”
It’s perhaps one last chance for Janssen to turn his Spurs career round, and the development could make for frustrating news for another first-teamer.
Llorente has only just got going
Janssen being considered for selection again might not go down too well with Fernando Llorente, who is finally getting game time this season with Harry Kane out with an ankle injury.
The Spanish target man is currently leading the line in the Englishman’s absence and making the most of some rare opportunities.

Llorente has struggled to get much game time since joining the club in the summer of 2017.
It has seemed as though Pochettino hasn’t really wanted to trust the veteran.
Perhaps that is still the case and is the reason for the manager’s U-turn over Janssen.
The only way for Llorente to respond is by continuing to score goals – he’s managed two in his last three games against Watford in the league and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup to take his tally to six for the season.
