Mauricio Pochettino has handed Georges-Kevin Nkoudou encouragement as he seeks to rebuild his Tottenham career, as per Sky Sports.
Tottenham’s injury crisis has handed the club’s fringe players a shot at redemption but while Pochettino has ruled Vincent Janssen out of a recovery, there was better news for Nkoudou.
The winger came off the bench to set up Harry Winks’ late winner against Fulham on Sunday and Pochettino has left the door open for Nkoudou to force his way back into the first team picture.
He said: “I think that is completely different [to Janssen]. The reason he was involved in the squad against Fulham is because he is part of our plans.”

And while Nkoudou’s Tottenham career is yet to spark into life, he could be a useful option off the bench to stretch teams.
Pochettino cannot underestimate the importance of that to a squad that is now sorely lacking game-changers off the bench.
There is clearly a reason Nkoudou was brought to the club and he remains young enough for Pochettino to coax it out of him – and the fact the Argentine hasn’t jettisoned him like he has Janssen suggests he is training well enough to impress.
