Leeds United took on Oxford United in a pre-season friendly last night and, at one point, it looked as though they were in for a hiding. It was a young and inexperienced team facing one of League One’s better-looking sides for next term and they struggled to contain them at the Kassam Stadium. But after going 4-1 down they eventually fought back to 4-3 at full-time.
There were some positives to take from the game. Tyler Roberts and Lewis Baker both bagged their first goals for the club. The other came from youngster Jack Clarke.
But one of the better performances of the night came from a player who found himself outcasted at Elland Road last season.

Polish international Mateusz Klich had a brilliant game for the Whites. Controlling the tempo when he could his range of passing impressed Leeds fans in attendance.
Signed from FC Twente last summer for a fee reported to be in the region of £1.5 million, Klich looked a great buy.
But he swiftly fell out of favour with former boss Thomas Christiansen and was loaned back to Holland in January, joining Utrecht.
He starred during his spell back in the Eredivisie and it seems he may get a second chance in West Yorkshire under the management of Marcelo Bielsa.
The majority of Leeds fans who saw his performance yesterday certainly hope that is the case…
