Tottenham Hotspur started 2019 with a commanding victory over Cardiff City.

Spurs travelled to South Wales and recorded a 3-0 win over Neil Warnock’s men courtesy of a fast start.

Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min all got on the score sheet before the half hour mark.

And the Tottenham defence will be pleased that they managed to keep a clean sheet.

Toby Alderweireld was solid at the back once again, helping Tottenham to keep things tight.

The Belgium international is a popular figure at Tottenham and considered to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

But he has been linked with an exit as speculation surrounding his future continues.

According to The Telegraph, PSG have joined Manchester United in the hunt for Alderweireld.

Tottenham recently triggered a contract extension but that involves a clause which allows him to leave for £25m in the summer.

Spurs fans have therefore been begging him to sign a new contract and commit his future to the club.
