A number of Arsenal fans have urged Emiliano Martinez to stay at the Emirates Stadium after the goalkeeper shared pictures of himself with the two trophies won by the Gunners this summer.
Martinez, who joined Arsenal’s academy in 2010 from Independiente and broke into the first team two years later, has made 38 competitive appearances for the North Londoners.
The Argentine, who has spent most of his Arsenal career as a deputy, excelled in the absence of first-choice Bernd Leno at the tail end of last season.

Martinez helped Mikel Arteta’s side win the FA Cup at the start of August thanks to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea and followed it up with the Community Shield win over Liverpool.
The 28-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, has been linked with a number of clubs including Leeds United and Villarreal in recent weeks.
However, it has also been reported that Martinez is close to signing a new deal at Arsenal.
Speculation about his future increased in wake of comments he made to Argentina’s Radio Continental last month.
“I showed that I can play, I need to play more games next season,” said Martinez. “I want to establish myself at Arsenal and become first choice.
“If I don’t play, I’m going to move, I’m going to go where I play more.”
However, Martinez’s Twitter post, posing with Arsenal’s recent trophies whilst thanking fans for their birthday well-wishes, showed his affection towards the club and went down well with the Gunners fanbase.
