TalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed on Instagram that he’ll be coming to the next Newcastle United game.

The Magpies climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone on Tuesday night thanks to their 3-1 win over Everton at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle charges followed up their 1-0 victory at Leeds last time out with a solid triumph over Frank Lampard’s side.

Everton took the lead in the 36th minute due to a Jamaal Lascelles own goal.

However, Newcastle levelled moments after the restart through another own goal.

Lascelles’ header hit the crossbar, hit Mason Holgate and went in.

Ryan Fraser then put Newcastle ahead, making it 2-1 from close range in the 56th minute of the match.

And then, a wonderful free kick from Kieran Trippier ten minutes from time made sure of three points for Newcastle.

After the match, Magpies January signing Matt Targett took to Instagram with a message for the Toon fanbase.

Agbonlahor replied to the Aston Villa loanee’s message:

Now, it’s worth mentioning that Agbonlahor isn’t the most popular pundit amongst Newcastle fans.

In November, the former Villa man made a controversial claim on talkSPORT – namely that prospective new signings “don’t want to live” in Newcastle.

“If you offered a player £40,000 a week at Newcastle, or £30,000 a week at Brentford, they would go to Brentford even on less money,” he said.

“Players don’t want to live in Newcastle.”

Unsurprisingly, Agbonlahor’s reply to Targett’s message wasn’t received too well amongst the Toon Army.

But the 35-year-old wasn’t fazed – indeed, he replied to one fan with the following message:

Newcastle’s next home game is, in fact, against Agbonlahor’s former club. The Magpies host Villa this Sunday.
